HipChat Notifications in RBLTracker
RBLTracker supports sending notifications to many different services, including HipChat. Today’s how-to blog post shows you how to get HipChat notifications up and running a few simple steps.
In HipChat
RBLTracker HipChat notifications are configured using simple web hooks, configured in the HipChat interface:
From the main chat interface, select the “Configure Integrations” option in the bottom right corner of the interface. From the integrations panel, select the “Build your own integration” option:
Give the bot a name, for example “RBLTracker“, and then click “Create”
The following page will give you the notification URL. Copy this URL to your clipboard.
In RBLTracker
You can add a HipChat Contact type from the Manage -> Contacts section of the RBLTracker Portal.
Select “HipChat” from the Contact Type drop-down, and enter your HipChat Notification URL in the Contact Information field. After clicking “Add New Contact“, you’ll receive a confirmation message via HipChat, with a confirmation code which you need to add to the portal to confirm.
If you don’t receive the confirmation message for some reason, you can also click the “Resend” option to resend the confirmation message.
Once a contact is confirmed, it will be ready to use.
